A severe thunderstorm downed trees and damaged one of Montevallo's landmark churches early Monday morning, April 3rd. Built in 1902, Montevallo Presbyterian, located at 510 Shelby Street suffered extensive damage and crews are on scene trying to secure the front of the building and protect the contents inside. The storm which damaged MPC is part of a system expected to bring more severe weather on Wednesday of this week.
Some drying is expected later today and through Tuesday, hopefully allowing crews to secure the location.
